
17 year-old jockey Jack Kennedy, leading the current National Hunt jockeys championsip in Ireland with 41 winners, suffered a broken leg in Downpatrick today and will be sidelined for some time.
Kennedy, from Dingle in County Kerry, was take to hospital following his second-fence fall from Shane Billy in the 2m7f handicap chase at Downpatrick on Friday.
Victoria McCandless, the racecourse doctor on duty at Downpatrick, said: “Jack has been sent for precautionary X-rays to Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for a suspected right femur fracture.”
